Why Certifications Are Important
ECOCERT certification allows brands like our highlight our environmentally-friendly and socially-conscious practices. It also helps us establish a bond of trust with our stakeholders, particularly our retail customers and consumers.
What is ECOCERT?
ECOCERT was established in France in 1991 to develop a clear product certification that standardizes the meaning of “natural” and “organic” in beauty care products. Based in Europe, ECOCERT conducts inspections in over 80 countries, making it one of the largest organic certification organizations in the world.
What are the guidelines?
For our products to be certified under ECOCERT, a formula can't contain any of the following types of ingredients:
• Synthetic perfumes and dyes
• Animal-derived ingredients (save for those naturally produced from animals, like milk or honey)
• ECOCERT products' packaging must also be biodegradable or recyclable.
Transparency is important to us at Essano. Declaring the ingredients and materials used in our products is key. Although not all our products are certified by ECOCERT, we do follow their methodology and principles throughout our manufacturing process.. Using an independent authority to certify the quality of our products means that we can ensure 100% transparency.
We at Essano also understand the impact of our actions on the environment we live in. Through the ECOCERT certification, we can guarantee that our processes are environmentally friendly and also respect human health, that we use the natural resources responsibly, GMO, petrochemical ingredient (except for authorized preservatives): parabens, phenoxyethanol, perfumes and synthetic colorants are absent and packaging is recycled.
